What a load of rubbish. If Google changed everything it did tomorrow I would adapt my practices to suit. If you don't evolve, you die; and that is true more on the internet than most other businesses.
Then again he is talking about "current SEO" so I think this article is more about getting attention than anything else.

Handy little hint this. Instead of printing any output to the screen you can save it to a file. I've just used this to save some debug information to a file.
